New York City celebrates Israel

Today was the 50th annual Celebrate Israel Parade in New York city. Over 35,000 participants, dozens of floats, and hundreds of thousands watched the festivities as the parade made it way up 5th Avenue.


Participating dignitaries included New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and city comptroller Scott Stringer, along with Israel’s consul-general in New York, Ido Aharoni; and   New York City council speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito; Queens borough president Melinda Katz; Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations Ron Prosor; Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon; Knesset members Hilik Bar  Yitzhak Cohen, Tzachi Hanegbi , Zvulun Kalfa, Elazar Stern  and Yitzhak Vaknin and Dov Lipman.

Even the Empire State Building was decked out in blue and white to celebrate the day
